  1. Working in a large corporate hive-mind is not so great for some people. Any kind of stepping out of the group-think seems to bring repercussion. In a class at work 3 young men were giving a presentation. There was little creativity in their presentation, yet all of them are consistently chosen by management as future leaders. In the presentation one guy kept talking about “older people” and how we need to be sensitive to the fact that they are not competent on computers and tend to be uneasy with computers. I’m an “older worker” (with excellent computer skills btw) and I mentioned that many “older” people are the pioneers of technological advances that we are all enjoying now days (I’m thinking of Gates, Jobs, those who created HTML, internet, etc). Needless to say I was tagged that day forward by the Senior manager and have felt the repercussions since then.
The Hive-mind is not all that great. It seems great for profits but for long-term sustainable communities and for humanity itself, it is a bad idea and seriously retards creativity.
